Yonder Walls Mural Festival made history as the first large scale public arts festival in the state of Alabama this year, and I was fortunate enough to be chosen as an artist!
I was asked to collaborate with Urban Supply for my assigned wall, which was perfect for my background as a graphic designer. I was able to celebrate their brand by framing their logo with my design and in the owner's words it now feels like an "extension of the brand." At first I only had the left wall to work with, but after seeing my design, I was told to go "all the way!" It's so much better for it, and I adore the final result.
Grow Wild was a personal piece for me, and the first time I've been able to inject my own artwork into a large-scale piece. This mural is inspired by my love of flowers, as well as my personal growth over the last few years. When I travel around the world, I always take photos of wildflowers I find in jungles, mountains, or even the cracks of concrete. It's wonderful to see how life looks when it's allowed to actually live! I'm allowing myself to finally be bright, loud, and exactly who I am without fear of being trampled.
Knowing that this colorful mural and so many others in the aisle of Urban Supply now exist brings me so much joy. Birmingham needed something like this to remind all of us the importance of human-made and the accessibility of public art. I'm thrilled that I was able to be one of the first to do that here in my hometown.

Karma's Kitchen is the newest addition coming to Birmingham, and the owner wanted to celebrate all things Five Points South. He only had a logo to start, but knew he wanted a cheerful, retro diner that was inviting to customers 24/7. He also wanted a family of characters to accompany the hero coffee cup that was part of the logo.
I started by drawing new characters in the retro style already established, and then worked through typography pairings. I also expanded their color palette from just red, cream, and brown to include yellow and orange. This blended nicely into a 70s vibe which matched perfectly with the owner's request.
There were six total locations to paint in this diner, including two large murals, signage, and accent walls. Each space had it's own challenges and considerations, including lighting, texture, and even wall shape. I focused on recognizable designs with high-visibility, knowing many of the paintings would be seen from the street.
The final result was a warm and immersive dining experience that customers can quickly understand before they even walk inside. I was able to expand Karma's Kitchen brand identity through my illustrations, which will easily lend itself to merch, social media, and further design needs. Not only will this place be recognizable from a quick glance on the street, but it truly celebrates Birmingham in a way that locals and travelers alike will love.

Brunch & Social's owner was ready to launch a new concept next door to the well-known Bandido Coffee in Five Points South. He already had a full, colorful brand, but needed it translated to the walls of his new space. He wanted artwork that was bold, on-theme, and would immediately grab attention when walking in the door.
I used Brunch & Social's set of branded illustrations along with their color palette to design a pair of murals with tile pattern frames. In addition, their logo was painted on the back wall facing anyone that entered the restaurant.
All three painted elements create bold, colorful harmony that both invites and excites customers. These branded artworks instantly create social media opportunities and free marketing for anyone snapping photos inside. Brunch & Social's business is already off to an incredible start with their opening weekend selling out!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama located in Hueytown, Alabama were ready to transform an unused room at their location into a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) lab. They needed a design that made it clear what the room would be used for, and also be bright, colorful, and inspire the children learning at their facility.
I used their national brand guidelines and built a fun, colorful palette that incorporated childlike doodles, while remaining true to the central theme for STEAM.
This space instantly became a colorful, exciting room for education that both the children and staff adored. In addition, it became an opportunity for their social media growth and a significant value add for their non-profit space.
Client Testimonial:
"Haley was fantastic to work with on the mural for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama’s Hueytown STEAM Lab. She was professional, communicative, and kept us updated daily throughout the process, which made everything feel smooth and collaborative.
The final result was exactly what we envisioned—vibrant, inspiring, and a perfect fit for the space. We’re so grateful for her work and the impact it will have on our youth. Highly recommend!" - Tamara, Area Director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama

With nothing but a blank, white sign on the front of their business, Cha House was unseen to the community. Even the tea-lovers of Birmingham were surprised to find out about this tea house right in the heart of Avondale that they'd driven by on a regular basis.
I focused on using their existing brand colors, logo, and product offerings to design an eye-catching mural that would announce to their existence and deliver a promise of what Cha House would offer.
Today, Cha House has increased their presence as a staple business in Avondale. Their foot traffic and sales have greatly increased, and their new visibility has brought the Birmingham community closer.
Client Testimonial:
"Haley is an incredible artist. We have commissioned her for multiple pieces for Cha House. Her price has been reasonable and her work speaks for itself- it looks gorgeous and has increased our business and our storefront recognition! We are so grateful.
Highly recommend- professional, clear communication, and courteous customer service!" - Alexis, Co-owner of Cha House
